David Jones opened their first standalone food store in Capitol Grand on Thursday, October 17, a fresh and exciting new direction for David Jones Food with a focus on high quality produce and convenience for an urban customer.
A modern reimagining of the corner store, David Jones Food Capitol Grand is the ultimate shopping destination for food lovers, featuring the best of local and international food across an ever-growing range of categories, including a convenient selection of prepared and semi-prepared fresh fruit, vegetables and salads, packaged meat and poultry, and restaurant-quality prepared meals, as well as pantry items, confectionery and a carefully selected beer, wine and spirits offering.
David Jones Food Capitol Grand will also be home to the first instore concept for Melbourne’s plant experts, The Plant Society, where customers can find some beautiful bunches of flowers and plants to take home.
David Jones Managing Director of Food Pieter de Wet said, “We are so excited to be joining the South Yarra community and want our customers to see us as their pantry, their home on the way home for delicious meal options, the highest quality produce, and the best food brands from Australia around the world.”
David Jones Food Capitol Grand was opened officially by David Jones CEO Ian Moir, Managing Director of Food Pieter de Wet, and Ambassador Jessica Gomes.
Construction continues at a rapid pace on Capitol Grand, with top-out officially happening on September 13 while apartments have been settled on up to level 30.
Work has now begun heavily on the Azure Club and the Azure Club apartments, located on levels 32 to 50 of the LK Tower. Level 33 will be home to the Azure Club amenities, including a stunning infinity pool, a gym with top-class equipment, a private dining room and lounge room—which can all be booked by Azure residents.
Azure apartments represent the absolute pinnacle of luxury in what is already a six-star development.
Further down the road from Capitol Grand, LK Hospitality’s first foray into dining, Omnia Bistro, will soon move from Toorak Road to its new permanent home in Capitol Grand, directly across from the David Jones Food Store.
Stay tuned for more delicious updates.
